MEET THE MORNING STAR ADOPTION CENTER STAFF
Laureen Brennan Haener, Adoption Worker
I graduated from Oakland University with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology in 1997. I went on to earn a Master's degree in Sociology from Eastern Michigan in 2005. I have been working with MSAC since 1999, I enjoy meeting new families and especially love doing post placement visits, seeing families grow! I currently work at the Information Center in Taylor, Michigan in the information and referral department and as a certified drug and alcohol counselor. I am married with two kids, Quinn, 11 and Jake, 9. I enjoy spending time with my kids and watching their sporting events, walking and reading.
My favorite quote is still unknown!
Andrew Blinder, Adoption Worker
Andy began his work with Morning Star in 2003. He has an undergraduate degree from WSU in anthropology and sociology. He earned His Master of Arts from the Michigan School for Professional Psychology with a degree in Clinical and Humanistic Psychology in 1988. He states "Two things are very satisfying about working for the agency. The Morning Star staff are dedicated, intelligent, and committed individuals. Interactions with them are team-work based and there is a high level of support. I also enjoy the experience of watching the adoptive process unfold and seeing parents proudly present themselves and child as a family."
Martin Luther King's statement: "History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition wan not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people." leaves me with a resounding message.
Stacy Elliott, Adoption Worker
Stacy graduated in 1999 from Western Michigan University with Bachelor degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice. I worked as a juvenile probation officer for 5 years before starting a family and switching careers. I am married with two boys, Ryan 7, and Brennan 5 and currently work as the Director of Operations for a non-profit agency in Taylor. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cheering my kids on at their sporting events, and being outside as much as possible!
Important quote for any parent: "Children are like mosquitoes-the minute they stop making noise, they're into something. "

Jennifer Lall, Adoption Worker
My educational experience started with child development courses which led me to work in both educational and social work settings, specifically with the preschool child. After taking a break to have my own children I returned to Oakland University to earn my Bachelor of Social Work degree. I have had experience working with families in both school settings and in the home. I like to travel and spend time with my family but I also enjoy Jazzercise.
