Adoption......a loving choice
Waiting Families
Carey & Tracy
Located in Michigan

We met for the first time in 1986, while we were still in high school, at a 2-week summer music camp at Western Michigan University. Trying to maintain a long distance relationship wasn’t realistic at that stage of our lives – Carey lived in East Grand Rapids and Tracy lived in Dexter. We lost touch when school started in the fall of 1986. In 2012, over 26 years later, we reconnected and fell in love. We soon recognized this was the relationship we were looking for all those years. We got engaged on our 1-year anniversary and were married less than 6 months later.

Carey is a Senior Project Engineer in Bloomfield. His hobbies and interests include basketball, disc golf, gardening, music, and travel. Tracy is an attorney in Plymouth. Her hobbies and interests include cooking and baking, reading, traveling, and riding her Harley. Aside from our individual interests, we most enjoy spending time together, trying new restaurants and Michigan craft breweries, and hanging out with our family and friends. We also enjoy spending time at our home in Plymouth with Obie, our American Staffordshire Terrier mix rescue dog.

We have always dreamed about having a family. Because we found each other again later in life, we had both accepted the fact that adoption would most likely be the only way we could have a family. That path became our reality when fertility treatments were unsuccessful. We are excited that God’s plan has been revealed to us: a family through adoption. Although the heartbreak of not having biological children was difficult, we look forward to the joy and happiness that we will feel when we are able to finally love a child of our own.

We hope to have an open relationship with you and your family. It is important that your child know your heritage as well as ours. We look forward to celebrating your child’s birthday, their “Gotcha Day” (the day they became part of our family), and other special holidays with you and your family. We will be open about your child’s adoption story and will celebrate the gift that God has given us through your decision to make an adoption plan. Please know that we would be honored and grateful to welcome your child into our home and love them unconditionally.
