Patrick & Rochelle

Nov 18, 2024

For your courage, your selflessness, and for even considering adoption at all, we’re already incredibly grateful to you. We would love the opportunity to meet with you andproperly introduce ourselves, but until that time, we’d like to provide you with a small glimpse into who we are and the life that we hope to share with a future child. We fell in love in 2005, have been married for 14 years, and in that time we’ve built such a strong and supportive partnership, filled with a crazy amount of love, that serves as the foundation of our little family. Reading is a big part of who we are, and we’ve both pursued careers that allow us to work with books every day: Patrick by working with English teachers, and Rochelle in the book publishing industry. Patrick’s experience includes teaching and writing curriculum for grades K-12, so our child will have the very best tutor and advocate when it comes to education (and the best coach and lifelong teammate due to Patrick’s experience playing and coaching multiple sports). Because Rochelle works in publishing, with access to all the best books, our child will have an impressive personal library, and there will always be a parent at home to read to them (we both work from home).

Adoption is already a familiar and important part of our lives, having been extremely blessed to adopt our son in 2020. Plus, both of Patrick’s brothers are adopted, so our child will have a big brother and uncles who can relate to their experience. We’d always planned to adopt multiple children, as our siblings were such important parts of our own childhoods that we wanted that experience for our own children. We’re so excited that any future baby in our family will already have a big brother to love and look out for them. They’ll also be loved beyond measure by our big, wonderful families who are all so eager to welcome and spoil another baby!

In the past decade, we’ve called a few amazing places home, from New York City to Denver, and are excited to be back in MI, closer to our families, where we’ve found a warm and welcoming neighborhood in an exciting and diverse city. Our home is on the most charming block that leads right into our favorite park. We’re looking forward to countless visits there as a family: swinging and sliding, running around the baseball fields, sledding in the snow, and walking the paths with our little dog, Huckleberry.

Any child we’re lucky enough to parent will always know how loved they are by all of their parents, and as their first parent, you will always be an integral part of our family’s story, and a cherished part of our lives (in whatever way you choose).
