Hi there — we’re Cher Jay (pronounced Sir Jay), Shawn, and our son Aiden. Thank you for taking a
moment to learn more about our family and the path that brought us here. We deeply respect the strength
and love it takes to consider adoption, and we want you to know how honored we are to be part of your
journey.
We’ve been together for over 20 years and married since 2017. We first met online—back in the dial-up
internet days, long before apps and swiping! Over the years, we’ve grown into each other’s best friends,
building a life based on trust, laughter, compassion, and unwavering commitment.
Parenthood has always been part of our dream, and adoption has been an intentional part of that vision
since the beginning. Three years ago, we were blessed to adopt our son, Aiden. Becoming parents
changed our lives in the most beautiful way. Aiden is joyful, curious, and full of life—he loves music,
dancing in the living room, and bedtime stories. He’s already excited to be a big brother and talks about it
often, even practicing how to “help” with diaper changes!
Cher Jay is warm, outgoing, and has a true gift for connecting with others. He works in the beauty
industry and in marketing and also runs his own freelance makeup business. He co-owns our
neighborhood coffee shop and leads all things creative and design. He loves fitness, creative expression,
and is passionate about personal growth. Working remotely allows him to be fully present with Aiden and
involved in daily family life.
Shawn is the calm to any storm—gentle, kind, and endlessly supportive. He manages the daily operations
of our coffee shop, which has become a beloved community hub. He’s a natural mentor, a people-first
leader, and he makes it a priority to start and end each day with family time. Shawn is also on his own
health journey and values emotional and physical wellness.
Family means everything to us. Cher Jay comes from a big, close-knit family that’s always celebrating
something, while Shawn’s smaller family brings just as much heart and support. Our home is filled with
love, laughter, toys, and the joyful chaos of life with a toddler.
We live in a two-story house with a backyard in a family-friendly neighborhood full of parks, walking trails,
and other young families. We love bike rides, spontaneous ice cream runs, weekend adventures, and
simple moments at home.
Our parenting philosophy is grounded in connection, compassion, and communication. We believe in
gentle parenting and creating a safe, open environment where our children know they are heard,
supported, and loved unconditionally. We are open to an open adoption and would love to have a
conversation with you about what might feel right for you.
