Hello!
We are Melanie and Steven, and we are so grateful that you are taking the time to learn
more about us. No matter what you decide, we hope you feel supported and cared for
throughout this journey.
We have been married since July 2022, and from the beginning of our relationship, we both
shared the dream of becoming parents. Our life together is built on love, laughter, family
traditions, and showing up for the people we care about. On a normal day, you can find us
making dinner together after work, going for a walk in our neighborhood, spending time with
family, or relaxing at home with our latest favorite TV show.
Our path to adoption came after experiencing infertility due to Melanie’s cancer treatment. While
this was an unexpected and difficult part of our story, it helped us realize that our dream of
parenthood was never about biology. It has always been about loving, raising, guiding, and
supporting a child. Adoption became a path that felt full of hope, meaning, and love.
Melanie works in Human Resources and comes from a large, close-knit Chaldean family. Her
heritage, faith, food, music, and strong family bonds are very important to her. She loves baking,
cooking, reading, sewing, embroidery, and crocheting handmade gifts for the people she loves.
One of her favorite traditions is making a handmade lovey for each of our nieces and nephew
when they were born. She dreams of sharing crafts, baking, family recipes, and meaningful
traditions with a child one day.
Steven grew up as an only child in a smaller but very loving family. His parents are retired
teachers who taught him the importance of kindness, learning, curiosity, and helping others.
Steven works as a Financial Analyst and enjoys running, biking, soccer, and video games. He
has completed half-marathons, enjoys staying active, and loves connecting with our nephew
through their shared love of Legos. Steven looks forward to being a hands-on, encouraging, and
playful father.
Family is one of the most important parts of our lives. A child welcomed into our family would be
surrounded by grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who are already excited
to love and support them. Our home is in a friendly community near parks, a playground, and
many of the people we love.
As parents, we hope to create a home where a child feels safe, deeply loved, accepted, and
celebrated for exactly who they are. We look forward to bedtime stories, family dinners, family
outings, holidays, birthday celebrations, school events, and all of the ordinary moments that
become treasured memories. Most importantly, we hope to honor a child’s story with honesty,
respect and love.
Thank you for considering us, we are wishing you all the best as you make this decision.
With love,
Melanie & Steven
