A little bit about our history: Becca grew up in the woods in Illinois. Josh grew up in metro Detroit. After college, Josh was living in Illinois working for a minor league baseball team, and we met and got married. Soon after, Josh got a new job in Michigan so we moved to the Detroit area. Becca continued to work in her chosen field and Josh focused on his career for several years before we decided to adopt Iris.
We love being parent to Iris, and thankfully she can keep up with our adventurous lifestyle. We’ve been camping with Iris since she was a baby. We travel several times each year and if we aren’t out camping, then we are traveling to another city for a baseball road trip to visit a stadium to watch a game. Josh has always been a huge baseball fan and Iris also has a love for the sport. Iris is very active and we try to keep her involved in activities as much as possible. She is on a tee ball team and Josh is her coach.
Iris is a very kind and considerate kid. Her favorite toys have always been her baby dolls. She loves to take care of them as if they were real babies. She will make an excellent and loving big sibling.
We do have a relationship with Iris’s first family, having visits when our schedules allow. Our relationship with her biological family started slow and has grown over the years into what it is now, and we are excited to see how those relationships continue to evolve
over the years. We love that Iris is able to have those relationships with her family, but we are also open to a closed adoption if that is what you would prefer.
We want to thank you for taking a moment to learn a little about our family. We are excited about bringing home a baby again, but we also recognize and appreciate how difficult it is to make an adoption plan. We are sending you strength as you figure out
what the options are for you and your baby.
