We would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for taking the time to get to know our family. We are Kyle, Valerie, and Bennett and we are excited for the opportunity to give insight into who we are as a couple and as parents to our son.
We first met 8 years ago at Kyle’s hockey game and have been inseparable ever since. We are the true definition of opposites attract. Kyle is quiet and calculated while Valerie is outgoing and spontaneous. Through those 8 years together, we have grown in our love for each other and have built a strong foundation. Through the highs and lows we have learned how to effectively communicate and be a rock for one another year after year. We truly balance one another out. People often say Kyle is the best listener and that he gives them the confidence they need. Valerie is generous and hospitable and would go the extra mile to make anyone smile or laugh. Things we like to do as a couple are play sports, board games, and cook together.
Kyle works as a Senior Project Manager for an analytical company, and Valerie works as a Behavior Specialist for a special needs school. Prior to that, she was a special education teacher for 6 years. She is able to enjoy the benefits of teaching by having holidays and summers off to spend more time with Bennett.
Kyle went to Michigan State University (Go Green!) and is a huge MSU sports fan. Valerie went to Wayne State University where she earned her Bachelors in Education and Master’s Degrees in Positive Behavior Support.
We have a four year old son, Bennett. He has brought so much joy to our lives and he will make the best big brother. He is curious, fun loving, witty, and kind. Some of his favorite activities are building with LEGOS, playing with cars, riding his big wheel, drawing, and making “concoctions”. He loves to read books, especially animal/insect related, and learn new things about the world around him. He loves Friday night movie night, PJ’s on the weekends, and going to church on Sundays as a family.
As parents, we lead with love and care. For the past four years, we have strived to create adventure in our son’s life and invested in activities that allow him to experience the world in new ways. We love reading and have always worked hard to have Bennett explore different kinds of books. One of the most amazing traits that Bennett possesses is that he is a genuine nurturer. He loves holding his baby cousins and giving sweet kisses.
