Hello, we’re Ben and Carrie!
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about us and our family. We’re so grateful that you’re considering an adoption plan for your child and that you’re considering us as adoptive parents.
We’ve been married for three years and have known from the start that we’d like to grow our family through adoption. We are both from large extended families who can’t wait to love another child.
We connected with each other on a trip to Ireland back in 2018, and while we were both living in different states (Carrie in Maine, Ben in Michigan), we decided to give a long-distance relationship a go. Eventually, Carrie made the move to Michigan to be closer to Ben and family before we were blessed to have gotten married in 2020 right before the pandemic!
We both have a love of adventure and have been fortunate to travel with family and friends over the last few years. While we love to meet new people and experience new cultures, we also enjoy staying close to home. Our house is close to Lake Michigan and we enjoy hosting our families for lake days over the summer. We can’t wait to introduce a child to picnics, sandcastles, hikes, biking, and even cross country skiing! We live in a small town with a wonderful community of neighbors and access lots of parks that are all very close by.
When we aren’t traveling, we have three pets at home that keep us busy. We spend many evenings watching movies, playing games, working puzzles, or snuggling with the pets on the couch. We have a great dane who absolutely loves to snuggle and two cats that keep us on our toes.
Ben works in IT for a local non-profit and does a hybrid remote schedule with a few days in the office and a few days working from home. He just celebrated his 10th anniversary with his company.
Carrie is the activity director for an assisted living facility and loves staying active with her residents. She enjoys the opportunity she gets to learn residents’ stories as well as planning enriching outings and events.
We want you to know that we will love your child unconditionally and look forward to learning about what your vision for your child’s future is. We have a strong network of family and friends who are eager to support us along the way and love your child with open arms. We are excited to meet you and open to whatever communication feels comfortable to you in the future. Your child will grow up knowing the love you have for them.
