Hello! We are Matt and Jen. We are excited to be on this adoption journey and want to thank you for considering an adoption plan for your child and us as potential parents.
We met back in August 2012. Jen was just starting her teaching career and Matt was her custodian at the time. We joke that Matt really swept Jen off her feet! We dated for 5 1/2 years and got married in June 2018. Jen is a middle school math intervention teacher. She is passionate about the work that she does and loves seeing her students learning and making connections. She loves to garden, crochet, read and travel. Matt is in management for Bimbo Bakeries USA (some of their brands are Sara Lee, Brownberry, Thomas’, etc.). He is very patient and enjoys working with new employees and showing them how to run a route. He loves to watch sports, collect sports cards & memorabilia, and to study history. Matt and Jen are both hard-working, kind, down-to-earth, value family time, and are always willing to help others.
Together, we enjoy going for walks and playing frisbee in our backyard with our 5-year-old dog Jolene. We also love all Detroit sports and enjoy going downtown to games or watching games at home and hosting friends. We enjoy cooking meals together and relaxing at home in the evenings. We are extremely family oriented and spend a lot of time with our parents, siblings and 4 nieces. During summer break, Jen watches our nieces one day a week and can’t wait to be home with our little one too. We love going up north for long weekends. We enjoy going on family vacations with our large extended families. We can’t wait for our future child to be able to join us on adventures and play with their many cousins.
We are beyond ready and feel so blessed to be welcoming a child into our family and making our dreams of being parents come true. We promise to love your child unconditionally and to dream their big dreams with them. We will encourage them to value their education and take pride in who they are and where they came from. We also look forward to supporting and building a long-term relationship with you, if you are open to that. We will continue to pray for peace for you and your baby as you consider making an adoption plan.
